Chef Niki Nakayama of the two Michelin-starred n/naka is a Los Angeles native who has mastered both the essentials of Japanese cuisine, as well as modern techniques. She’s currently offering bento with sushi and Kaiseki Jūbako. Both takeout options support local purveyors and are beautifully-curated. Be warned: they sell out very quickly.

Otosan has premium chirashi bowls, omakase, and vegetarian sushi sets, in addition to à la carte sashimi. The chef’s choice flight includes three pieces of speciality fish from Japan. You can’t go wrong with a tuna tartare tower or premium tuna sampler. Don’t forget mochi donuts for dessert.

Chef Taketoshi Azumi runs a minimal operation at this Michelin-starred joint in order to create the very best authentic sushi. Choose between a 12-piece omakase box or the bara chirashi, which comes as regular or deluxe. Pickup is offered Wednesday-Sunday.
